Another rant on gay marriage, watch out.
I don't see why there is any controversy over this. We have freedom of religion. Maybe gayness is against Christianity (which is another debatable point, but that's a different rant) but we have freedom of religion. By saying that some people can marry and others can't, Bush is segregating US citizens and creating second-class citizens. It's just plain stupid, and I don't see what the problem is. I've done a bit of research on this, and 1) Gayness is not something fixable. People who have gone into therapy to become straight come back out still gay 99.98% of the time. That's a whole freaking lot. And the .02% who "succeed"? Well, some of them just are bi instead of completely straight and the rest of them are generally lying just to get out of therapy. 2) If it's not changeable, even with lots of effort, it's not something chosen in the first place. 3) If sexuality is not something changeable or chosen, it's simply a part of a person. 4) If a group of people in the US is being discriminated against by their government because of something that's a part of them, then exactly how far have we come? Not too #### far in my opinion! We're just going backwards. Forget the land of the free, we're the land of the judgmental, land of the segregated, land of the prejudiced, land of the hypocrites. And I can't stand it.
I changed my format slightly, in regards to a comment from Jager. Hopefully, this is easier to read.
I'm listening to: Yahoo radio: Indie Rock, with Naive by The Jealous Sound currently playing.
