Hah ha! Oh, I am so beyond good! Look at that! Penni just fixed her template! *Does the happy dance* I'm so proud! I'm sitting in the library just grinning like an idiot!
And I added another commenter to the sidebar.

This is yoinked from this site. I think it's a really good code of conduct, and I'm going to try to strive to meet it everyday, in every moment.

"Many people feel the need to belong to a certain group, whether it be mainstream society or an anti-mainstream society like punks, scenesters, and goths and so on. People try their best to conform to these societies, trying to fit in. Each society is harsh on the people who do not correctly conform to its standards. These societies are built on competition and elevation of status. People strive to be the prettiest person, the coolest person, and so on. They put others down in efforts to elevate themselves. They are hurtful to their own kind.

The main point of being a Uniquist is to try to get away from the ways of these different societies: To be unique, to be yourself, to break away from what these societies tell you that you have to be, to be however you want to be without having any limits on what you are allowed to do. Uniquists do not judge each other, or put each other down. They do not hurt each other. They love and care about one another. They try to help each other. They do not compete to be cooler than one another. They try to be good people.

The Uniquists are a group of people that you can 'belong to' when you don't quite fit into any other group, when you just want to be yourself without being criticized for things that you should not be criticized for (like music tastes, opinions, ideas, or clothing styles).

What is a uniquist?

A uniquist is an open-minded person that tries their best to keep the world a diverse place by purposely trying to be unique, mainly by being true to themselves and what they truly believe in.
A collection of people that each have their own thoughts...and tastes, and styles...
People that care about other people and that are not shallow, who try their best to not be selfish.
People that do not conform to society's expectations. [example: If you want to wear a sweatshirt to a high class restaurant, you do it.]
People that try their best not to care what others think of them:
People who do what they want because they like it, not because they are trying to fit in or to show off...
People who are not afraid to be themselves or at least try their best to have the courage to be themselves.
People that have the ability to say no to things they are against (like drugs, instead of giving in to try to fit in...)
People that try to see everything from multiple points of view, and not just their own.
They do not need to agree on everything, nor believe in everything, just they need to be open minded and think about everything...be willing to change their minds if they learn something new...
People that do not copy or try not to copy other people's ideas.
Artistic creative people.
People that are never fake, yet try to be genuinely nice and kind to everyone.
People that have a love for all people and do not think that one race is better than another.
No one person is better than another. Uniquists are all equal, and they are not really any better than other people, although they should aim to be.

Uniquists are basically just real people.
Unique people that are hard to find these days...
People with hearts and opinions...

An Ideal Uniquist would try to dress differently from others, for the sake of being unique, for fun, and to wear what they want -instead of what society tells them they are allowed to wear.
They would be smart enough to not do drugs that harm them... and to not believe in war, [because war is not caring about others, and it's pointless and primitive - people should be able to come to an understanding by reasoning, not by killing].
They would listen to whatever kind of music they like, but also always try to look for new kinds and music and new bands and artists.
They would shop where ever they wanted, as long as they shopped at various places - and looked for things they liked and didn't try to fit in with the rest of society.
They would not care about brand names.
They would be nice to everyone and accept everyone.
They would not put others down.
They would write, paint, draw, design, or anything else creative...because they wanted to. they wouldn't worry about what others think about their work, so it would not be possible for it to be 'bad' ...
They would seek knowledge on all subjects.
They would never let others down, they would keep promises, do what they say are going to do, and so on.
They would try their best not to lie.
They would care about others and their feelings and emotions.

Things that will disqualify you from being a uniquist:
1) Thinking you are better (or cooler) than others.
2) Putting others down to make yourself feel better, or for any reason.
3) Lying to your friends.
4) Being shallow or overly selfish.
5) Hurting people's feelings.
6) Not being yourself."

Once upon a time, I wrote a mission statement of what I want to be, who I want to be, and what I'll strive for. If I can find a copy of that, I'll post that as well.

I'm listening to: Unwell, ummm, by...matchbox 20? Or Dashboard Confessional? I always confuse the two. Whoever it's by, it's a good song.
