| I've been doing a little work with my links table. The biggest thing I did was put a fanlistings pop-up. And I joined and coded all, oh, 73 fanlistings in the past two days. Yeah, I'm a little obsessed, but it is quite fun. I also added button links to hot-r-not and fictionalley. What do you guys think? Any other suggestions? Does it look like total crap and I should revert to the way I had it before?
I recently came across a person who'd plagerized fanfiction. I just don't understand how someone could do a thing like saying they'd written something they hadn't in the fandom world. I most definitely don't agree with it, but I can understand the motives for plagerizing a term paper or something - someone wants/needs a good grade in the class and isn't secure in their own abilities to write a good paper (or is just too lazy). But no one makes anyone write a fanfic. If someone doesn't have the motivation or the talent to write one, they don't have to, so why would they pretend they did? And also, if you post a story online, you have to assume that everyone who reads it at least knows their way to google - it's not that hard to catch someone, especially if they copy a well-known fic like many stealers do. The person I saw today talked in her profile about how english is her second language, and sounded like someone who isn't a native speaker. When I went over there, she had three fics posted. One had an author note that was very nearly longer than the fic (word count, plus a/n, was 449) , and the fic itself had gems like quote: ----------------------------------------------------------------- "he is crazy!!!" o, yeah, he just knew it. They where scared of him. [...] But he didn't cared about that either. His life was a hell when Sirius died. Sirius wasn't just only his godfather, but also his best friend. He had lost everything!!! He had lost his parents, his friends, and now Sirius too. And he was also going to lose his life. He didn't wanted to live anymore. Because he already lost his life. After the war, when he defeated Voldemort... he had lost all of his magical powers. He was kicked of school because of that. ------------------------------------------------------------------- The other two were nice length, BEAUTIFULLY written fics. Hmmm...I wonder. Man, if you're going to steal someone's work, at least be smart about it! But I suppose the simple fact that they have stolen someone else's writing shows that they aren't that clever.
