Wow, marching season is over. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself now that I don't have to go to band basically every day. I can actually come home before 9:30 on Tuesdays! It's weird though. Last year, I couldn't wait for marching season to be over. I was tired and my body hurt and I didn't want to do anything anymore. This year, I'm still tired and I still hurt, but I don't think I want the season to be over. Especially now that I know what concert season is like (BORING!!!). Eh, but anyway. State was yesterday. We got 9th out of 10, but hey, at least we didn't lose to FrPt (which is good, because my dad told me if we lost to them, he'd disown me...)! I would have liked to have done better, but really my goals were fulfilled. We made it to State, we beat FrPt, and we got through this week.

This week has been rather rough, but I think the family (well, at least Mike and Eric. I haven't seen the rest of them) are doing all right, or as well as they can be doing. They're acting enough like themselves that I'm not uncomfortable around them. I'm not worried about saying the wrong thing and setting them off.

The election is on Tuesday, and I'm terrified. I don't know what I'm going to do if That Man wins. I love my country, and he's done no good for it whatsoever. He's taken the budget from one of the biggest surpluses ever to one of the biggest deficits ever. He got us into a war that we had no business being in. He blatantly discriminates against gays and lesbians. He's trying to take away American's basic rights with the Patriot Act and with banning gay marriage (Ever heard of freedom of religion?). It costs more to get an education, but the average citizen has less money. Almost every other country in the world has a negative impression of my country, more than partly because of him. In the second debate when he was asked to speak about three mistakes he'd made, he talked a lot about all the things he'd done right. The mistakes he mentioned involved appointing people and tactical decisions that "historians will look back and say: He shouldn't have done that" about. It scares me that the President can't take responsibility for big mistakes (WMD, anyone?) On a personal level, he hasn't got enough speaking skills that I feel at all comfortable with him representing me and my country. And what good has he done? I really don't know. Please, everyone, if you're over 18 and live in America, DON'T forget to vote, and please, make the right decision.
